Le groupe de Roluos est une série de monuments représentant les restes de Hariharalay, la première capitale de l'empire Khmer de l'ère Angkorienne. Roluos doit son nom à sa proximité à la ville moderne de Roluos. L'ancienne capitale a été appelée Hari-hara, une synthèse des dieux indous Shiva et Vishnu.
Bien qu'il eut existé un accord dans le secteur avant le règne d'Angkor, Harharalaya fut désignée comme ville capitale par Jayavarman II et a servi de capitale Khmère durant plus de 70 années et sous quatre rois successifs. Ces premiers grands temples Khmers (Bakong, Preah Ko, Lolei) et les barays ont été construits chez Hariharalaya et furent le modèle pour les quatre siècles suivants. Le dernier roi de Hariharalaya, Yasovarman I, a construit le premier temple principal à Angkor, Phnom Bakeng, et déplaça la capitale dans le secteur de Bakeng en 905. la capitale resta à Angkor jusqu'en 1422. The Roluos Group is a series of monuments representing the remains of Hariharalay, the first capital of the Khmer Empire during the Angkorian era. Roluos owes its name to its proximity to the modern city of Roluos. The ancient capital was called Harihara, a synthesis of the Hindu gods Shiva and Vishnu.
Although there had been an agreement in the area before the reign of Angkor, Hariharalaya was designated the capital city by Jayavarman II and served as the Khmer capital for over 70 years and under four successive kings. These first great Khmer temples (Bakong, Preah Ko, Lolei) and barays were built at Hariharalaya and set the model for the next four centuries. The last king of Hariharalaya, Yasovarman I, built the first main temple at Angkor, Phnom Bakeng, and moved the capital to the Bakeng sector in 905. The capital remained at Angkor until 1422. 13km from Siem Reap.
